Visit to Cochin, Kerala - AVB0097196

On our last month visit to Cochin, we wanted a place where we could have a relaxing break. We did the package from antilogvacations.com as they r quite famous Kerala bulk dealers for room & tour packages. There were 2-3 hotels suggested to us of this kind and just by luck we went and okayed hotel fort house. We found that all 3 rooms occupied by us turned out to have a very good view. The front of the rooms opened into the garden and then into the courtyard. The rooms were all very well furnished and were clean too. Religiously the staff changed the bed sheets, towels etc in those rooms. The entire staff was very hospitable and accommodating.

The restaurant especially turned out to be very nice. It is located next to the sea and hence eating out there is a charming experience in itself. However my advice is to look out for the spices as they tend to make the food too rich and spicy. Probably in line with our Indian tastes but then those who are not used to it should take care. Breakfast is also included in the fare, which is there in most of the places. And the breakfast is very wholesome too.

This hotel is a laid back place and in my opinion it is meant for those who are seeking a break from the rush and busy life. Though it’s located inside the main city it keeps its quietness and silence intact. The stay is more economical compared to other hotels so one should not expect too many frivolities. Just the basics are taken care of, but taken care of really well. The place thus gives you a sort of homely feel.

As a nice surprise, we found the hotel kept a yoga expert too. There were some options of massage too. Two of our friends tried their message but did not find it that special. The tip is to have some more knowledge about these things and keep in mind what exactly you are looking for, and discuss beforehand.

Since we took a package, taxi and other services were provided by Antilog Vacations. In the end it was a good show from both Antilog & Hotel fort house guys.

I would rate this hotel as a very good property & definitely for a stay for max 2-3 nights.
