Adrien Royer - Antilog Vacations Glacier Region, New Zealand Review AVB0098513

The trip to the Glacier Region in New Zealand was booked by my loyal tour operator Antilog Vacations through its online portal counterpart in New Zealand. The Heartland Hotel Fox Glacier was our abode there for 3 days and 4 nights. Located in the Cook Flat Road there was no problems in locating the place as the nearby locales were helpful.

As we reached the place we were greeted with a superb view of the huge blue mountain ranges, which provided a commanding but serene backdrop to the resort. The staff was awaiting us and welcomed us with welcome drinks and a dedicated butler who gave us info about the places to visit in the vicinity. He also helped us with our airport drop and the 6 hour car booking which we needed on the second day.

As we were going to our rooms, we saw that though a little hotel, it had the feeling of a merger of a host of buildings and as all were put together it looked updated and refurbished. In fact the so called other recent hotels in NZ where I had been to paled in front of Heartland Hotel Fox Glacier.

The room was around 600 sq ft and decorated with a local hand crafted carpet. It had a shared balcony with a stunning view of the sunrise and the sunset. The nearby rooms though separated by a thin wall, was secluded from any unnecessary cacophony and hence we were not disturbed. The front facing rooms near the staircase were the best based on our stay and hence were the first to be booked through the rooms on the back side of the hotel too had a glorious glimpse of the famous ranges - Mt Tasman and Mt Cook through the balcony.
