Me and my wife stayed at the Goldridge Resort in Queenstown last week during our visit to New Zealand. Travelling from India, for our second honeymoon we had confirmed our bookings through Antilog Vacations and they had arranged a package deal for 5 days and 6 nights at an affordable tariff.
1) One of the best places to stay is in one of the 500 level suites. The nicest views are available on both the 500 and 600 level rooms. These rooms are worth slightly extra but are definitely worth the view. On the next day we checked out the lake view rooms on the first floor and they appeared decent and spacious though the view was hindered from the nearby buildings. However if you are on a budget these provide an affordable alternative. Our room had a beautiful view of the lake and valley across from our balcony. One helpful suggestion which was given by our travel operator (Antilog Vacations) was that try to ask for a room with a proper view in advance as given the current good weather and excellent room service having a cuppa of hot tea or coffee or even a glass of wine on the balcony with your loved ones would be a memorable moment.
2) The staff was very accommodating with everything we asked for. The famous Queenstown downtown area was about 1-2 kms from the resort but as the hotel had a shuttle that ran hourly so you would not face any parking or other problems.
3) The hotel offered free wi-fi for an hour everyday. The hot tub and sauna spa were also quite helpful after tiring treks. We used them frequently during our stay. We would return there again if we come back to New Zealand and would recommend the same to others.
