Jay francis Raiz - Antilog Vacations Christchurch, New Zealand Review AVB0096016

We arrived at  Christchurch in the night and were pleasantly surprised to learn that the Ibis Hotel was booked for our stay there. We liked Ibis as a brand and they always guarantee a certain level of standard and we were happy that they continued to maintain the level during or stay. Our travel operator – Antilog Vacations though were a bit late in confirming our travel itinerary but arranged the best places on our stay and that too at pretty low prices. The hotel authorities at Ibis arranged for our dinner during the late hours as we got there. We had a late flight and were starving and thus the food was god sent as the only available food options was at around 30 mins walking distance which was closed though.

This hotel was very central in location and a walk around central Christchurch would take you to the container mall and the plaza. As the climate was really cool, we preferred to stay indoors and enjoy room service and moreover as the views out of the windows were excellent you would be having a grand time nevertheless. The lobby and the rooms looked refurbished recently and were totally worth the price. Our room was clean and neat with a very standard hotel décor. The half-hour of free wi-fi in the lobby was generally sufficient for us as we were on a holiday and limited use.

The restaurant was decent but one suggestion would be to book it in advance as it usually gets filled quickly. The container shopping village was nice and the short stroll to Hagley Park was also serene. The hotel was a good single stop for some excellent photos of the alley and the adjoining hillocks. Activities for visitors in the area were of a wide range and the town centre helped a great deal in organizing those.
