Kerala honeymoon package from Antilog Vacations
Now, we booked this resort as a part of our Kerala travel package from Antilog Vacations. The travel agent gave us good service & cheap rates than what resort or other folks were offering us. I think it makes sense to visit Munnar, Thekkady and Alleppey as well while u stay here in Kumarakom. The 7 Day package & it was our 3 stoppage. I guess, had we booked all the stuff by ourselves, it would have been at least a 20-30k more expensive and hassles. Ours was a honeymoon tour.
Rooms
It is a good resort with affordable price. Location is beautiful with backwaters. All the rooms are unique and beautifully decorated. Rooms are having amazing garden view and private swimming pool with Jacuzzi. The cottages are well furnished. The heritage pool villa will be quieter than other rooms.
Food
Food choices are wide with south Indian, north Indian and continental varieties. All the meals are buffet. Menus are changed everyday so one can not get bored. The tea on the lawn at 4 o'clock with lots of snacks is very refreshing. The evening buffet and dance display is good. But the specialist fish restaurant is not so good, It is dark and empty. Expect shelling 2000 rs for 2 if u don’t book in advance.
About the resort
The resort is full of greenery with lots of trees and shrubs but you can not find mosquitoes as the management takes good care to prevent those. There are lots of activities like pottery shop, mat weaving, gym, swimming pool and cycling. All these activities are free. You can bike up to a bird sanctuary which is 2km away. The speed boat ride is very thrilling and satisfying. You can also hire a houseboat for one day. But resort gives it really costly so book in advance. The sunset boat ride is very relaxing.. Around the main office ground you can find an astrologer, caricature artist, magician, basket making and weaving.
Services
The housekeeping service is excellent. They maintain your villa neatly. Change linens, towels regularly. It is pleasing to see a red rose on your bed every time when they do your bed. The service is excellent. Staffs are smart, helpful and smiling. They work quietly in peaceful way. But the surface is little slippery outside with no warning signs. To enter the resort you have to take the roadway. It is situated in a populated place. But once you enter it is amazingly beautiful.
Advice
The hotel people charges for rooms, services, houseboats are high so go via a good travel operator but Local Kerala agents are a big no no, as they don't seemed transparent enough. The agent we finally chose did good job overall. There is no shortcoming in the hotel though.
